Beano Childs Cycling Jersey

Friday Fun

It’s one of those kind of dull grey days here. They are happening all too often and so I blogging away the blues by sharing some nice things. Hopefully they’ll cheer you up too. If you’ve found a great spot to get a Christmas present or a company who has been very helpful lately – do feel free to share in the comments below!

First up it’s the Irish Parenting Bloggers new look website which is looking very nifty. You’ll find loads of information on the many bloggers in the group’s ranks. In fact, make a cup of tea or coffee before you go browsing as it may take you some time.

Next, it’s time to fight the grey days with an energy-saving daylight bulb in your living spaces. I invested in a number of these bulbs last year and the difference in light quality is noticeable on days like today. The bonus is they can help those who suffer from SAD (Seasonal Affective Disorder) and mean I’m not so “squinty” trying to cook in the kitchen. I believe they’re out of stock at the moment in Small Changes but drop them a line to check availability and again another great website to browse.

I had a seriously retro moment last week when a package arrived from The Beano celebrating their 75th anniversary. Can you believe it’s 75 years old? We loved the drinks bottle as it’s handy for school lunches, trips out and about and also the kids road cycling jersey, both of which are available to order from Foska. The annual will be a huge hit in this house too and is available from all good bookstores nationwide.

I have been making great use of Parcel Motel in the past month and keeping my shipping costs down for parcels coming from the UK. I can’t even begin to tot up the total amount of savings I’ve made from using this great Irish based company in the last few years. They are rolling out more and more motel stations nationwide and you can now send a parcel from one PMID to another.

Disclosure: I received samples of The Beano water bottles, cycling jersey and annual for the purposes of review. My opinions are my own and I am not paid to give them.

I love the Beano! I am originally from Dundee, where The Beano was created :) Dundee has a few statues of characters dotted around the city centre from DC Thomson comics.

Beano!! memories of Christmas Days and the happy moment when I would FINALLY get a proper “go” of my brother’s Beano annual sometime late afternoon … Good to hear it’s 75 years old, makes me feel quiet young :)
