Adams Cloud

Have you heard about Adam’s Cloud? I first heard about Benji Bennett over 3 years ago now when I chanced across his interview on Ireland AM.  I cried, a lot, for this incredibly strong man who had written the first of what was to become a series of books in memory of his son Adam.  That award winning book is called “Before You Sleep”.

“It’s time to sleep but before you go, there’s something I really want you to know.”

The message behind the Adam’s Cloud series is simple:

“If every child gets an extra 10 minutes of play time, an extra hug and a kiss and are told that they are loved at the end of each day, well, that’s OK.”

A portion of the price of each book goes to charity, the details of which can be found on the Adam’s Cloud site.

Reading to your children everyday will help improve your child’s literacy. If you read “Before You Sleep” to a child, not only are you telling them a simple story, you’re also telling them how loved they are.  By repeating any story night after night at bedtime it can become routine, make a child feel secure and make for an easier bedtime.

The story of how Adam’s Cloud came to be is not mine to tell.  If you’d like to find out more about how Benji Bennett and why he feels this message is so important then click here. Honestly I am in complete awe of the journey that he has taken and the books that he has written.  They are charming, beautifully illustrated and the fact that the message has extra importance makes them a very special gift for a family.

Benji has given me a gift set of 4 signed books from the collection to be given away to 1 lucky reader.
