Gift of Time Vouchers

Christmas Voucher PicI’ve been blogging and talking about Christmas on a budget a decent amount this week. Well okay, a lot! Here’s something that may make your Christmas gifting a bit easier.

This is the fourth post of my 12 Days of Christmas Series!

Over on Ramp.ie I’ve an alter ego.  Sort of. It’s more that I talk about living on a budget in more general terms, rather than focusing just on food but I also have a bit of fun with being short for cash!  This week I wrote about Christmas on a Shoestring and I mentioned experience or gift of time vouchers being a good idea if you’re stuck for money.

Similarly with the lovely folks from The Sodshow, where yesterday I spoke on d’radio (oooh get me) about how to give gifts with thought this Christmas.  I also mentioned vouchers for time!  I have to give a huge thanks to the Sodshow team and in particular Peter Donegan who has inspired me hugely in my podcasting using Audioboo (see the podcast widget to the right of this post), for giving me the opportunity to chat on the air this week.

Anyhow, what’s the point in me harping on about vouchers if I don’t give you the tools to make them?  So here, below is a simple, print out template for you to fill out and pop into an envelope or inside a Christmas card.  Just open the pdf, and press print then fill out the blanks yourself. Make sure you select the page size as A4 and then “fit to page” for the print out.

Here’s some suggestions for you for gifts of time and/or experiences that you might like to give:

  • Breakfast In Bed
  • A Long Walk On The Beach
  • 1 Night Of Babysitting
  • 2 Hours At The Playground
  • Learn How To Fly A Kite
  • Learn How To Hop Stones On Water
  • A Lie On (on a day of the recipient’s choosing)
  • Unlimited Cups of Tea
  • 2 Hours Weeding

Print it out as often as you like. I’ve deliberately left off any copyright notices so you can be the hero of Christmas Day and your recipient won’t be wondering who the heck Wholesome Ireland is.  Mind you if you want to tell them about me then go right ahead!
